The Amanda was named after the poet and activist, Amanda Gorman. Her work focuses on issues of oppression, feminism, race, and marginalization, as well as the African diaspora. She is the youngest inaugural poet in U.S. history and read her poem "The Hill We Climb" at the inaugeration of Joe Biden. In 2017, Gorman was named the first-ever National Youth Poet Laureate of the United States.
Our sandals are hand made in Kenya with rubber outer sole and leather insole. Should the footwear get wet, dry them in a cool place and not direct sunlight.
The Amanda is particularly forgiving and a great choice for wider feet. It also is a great alternative for those who experience irritation with a thong between the toes.
